Yamaha GC / GCX Series Guitars

Yamaha GC Series guitars are the company's highest-end Classic guitar line, most of the models are made in Japan (except the GS22 series). These models contain the most quintessential points of Japanese handmade musical instrument making with decades of experience and know-how.

If you want to know the quality of Classic guitars made in Japan, you should experience the GC Series.

Full Solid.

All models in the GC series feature solid wood backs and panels for the signature tone of premium materials. Solid Spruce or solid Cedar tops are available across the entire range, allowing you to choose according to your preferences for sound and appearance.

Choose Wood.

The wood is “fresh” and must be carefully prepared over a long period of time to be suitable for use on an acoustic guitar. Even then, no two pieces of wood are the same. It takes a lot of skill and experience to choose the right type of wood and combination of woods for a Yamaha instrument.

Shape the rod.

The necks on the Grand Concert series are shaped one by one by the luthier using his sensitive hands to feel the curvature of the neck, making it a perfect fit for smoother finger movements and stability sure.

Bracing model.

The bracing pattern, an essential element that determines the character and tonal response of a guitar, was devised by Antonio de Torres in the 1880s. In the new GC series, Yamaha has improved this shape and design to bring greater volume and response, bright and clear high end, rich bass.

* Tie rod shape and design vary for each model.

Fitted bridge and bridge.

The fingerboard captures the vibrations of the strings transmitted through the bridge and onto the string pins. The relationship of these three components; The bridge, bridge and top are extremely important on a guitar. Using their advanced skills, our craftsmen fit the bridge bone into a groove in the bridge with a high degree of surface-to-surface contact. The guitar bones are also precisely positioned and glued to the top with great precision.

Coating for GC82S and GC82C.

Shellac is a natural coating made from the resin of the lac beetle native to the forests of India and Thailand. Multiple applications of thin layers of shellac allow the top to vibrate freely for superior response and resonance. Shellac also allows the wood to breathe freely, so the longer it is played, the sweeter and deeper its sound becomes. In addition to a lot of skill, applying shellac also requires a lot of time and effort.
