The EMX5014C mixer is an all-in-one mixer that packs a high-performance mixer, power amp, visual equalizer, and digital effects unit into a compact sonsole-style unit. It can be easily rack mounted, and is suitable for a wide range of applications. The EMX5014C replaces the prized EMX5000-12 even with upgraded sound quality and mixer functionality. A whole bunch of add-ons and design enhancements are also done.

Exceptional sound through meticulous detail and design choices

The choice of details is crucial to achieving the best sound, and Yamaha doesn't need to put too much effort into selecting the best details. For example, the key headphone amplifier circuitry uses a special noiseless chip resistor on a thin chromic film for precise, noiseless sound reduction. Care must be taken when arranging the floor for the system as well as the general circuitry to ensure that no unwanted noise or interference that degrades the sound quality is introduced.

Intuitive, practical controls and connections

The mixer section has a total of 14 inputs in a very flexible configuration: channels 1 to 6 are single line or microphone inputs, channels 7/8 and 9/10 can function either as single microphone/line inputs or stereo line inputs, and channels 11/12 and 13/14 are stereo line inputs. There are also connectors for connecting external power amplifiers and effects processors. Stereo channels 11/12 and 13/14 include RCA pin jacks for direct connection of CD players or music playback devices that can apply 3-band equalizers as required. Channels 1 to 6 have a 3-band mid-sweep EQ while channels 7 to 14 have a 3-band unswept midrange EQ. There are also two 9-band graphic equalizers for optimal compatibility with speakers or room acoustics

Yamaha's SPX effects are widely recognized as some of the best for both recording and live sound. The EMX5014C has a built-in SPX effects processor for exceptional effects quality with 32-bit processing. 16 effects programs with adjustable parameters give you high quality digital reverb, echo, delay, modulation and distortion. You can even connect a footswitch to control the effect on/off.

High efficiency power amplifier

To make the EMX5014C light and manageable, the power amplifiers used had to be extremely efficient while delivering outstanding sound quality. In fact, EMX power amplifiers are very efficient, delivering 500W + 500W (4?ohm) with relatively low power consumption and heat generation. At the same time, they deliver outstanding sound quality with low transition and distortion response.

Compact, practical design

The EMX5014C is light in weight, but that doesn't mean the performance is down. The cabinet is made of exceptionally light-weight yet sturdy materials and the switching power supplies all the clean power the system needs to generate 500W + 500W of power. And the EMX5014C weighs in at just 10.5 kg - much lighter than previous models. Carrying handles are designed at the bottom of the mixer for enhanced handling and versatility.

The Yamaha FCL (Feedback Channel Positioning) system has made locating and eliminating feedback easier than ever. FCL indicators located on each input channel indicate in which channel feedback is occurring, so you can identify it visually and adjust levels or EQ as required. Another convenient feature is a backup switch that mutes channels 1 through 8 so that after rehearsal or between setups you can mute the performer's inputs 1 to 6. without having to change the equalizer settings while the stereo inputs remain active for background music playback.
