The remember in. To make it a truly untethered, computer-free experience, the X also has two USB slots that can be used to connect a MIDI controller.

Powering the X is our excellent MPC 2.0 Software, running natively in standalone mode. For a more expressive performance, there are 16 touch-sensitive 360-degree assignable pots—perfect for precisely automating individual QLink parameters. Above each QLink pot is a high-resolution OLED screen, displaying detailed information for each parameter.

To plug or not to plug.

Whether you like using computers or not, there's no denying that there are some great-sounding VST instruments and effects. For those times when you need your favorite plug-ins, MPC features in your favorite DAW. Some of the new features added to 2.0 include: Track recording, improved time warping, enhanced Q-Link control, audio and MIDI drag and drop—all appearing on the graphical interface new.

MPC is famous for its powerful sound and great, immediate sound. X builds on that reputation. Preloaded with 10 world-class audio gigs, The Vault 2.0 features samples and kits from leading sound design companies including CAPSUN ProAudio, MVP Loops, CR2 Records, as well as their own I. Want to combine your own patterns without connecting to a computer? The X features a 2.5” SATA drive connector that provides additional storage capacity through the installation of a permanent hard drive – SSD or HDD (sold separately). Additionally, sounds can be accessed and added to the library using the built-in SD Card slot or USB drive. You can also record directly to all of the above storage locations.

MPC X has a number of additional features that make it the most powerful standalone music production tool to date. X features a high-quality audio interface designed to record, sample, and transmit native audio. The back panel is equipped with 2 TRS XLR + 1/4” inputs for recording microphones - including those requiring 48V phantom power. There are two additional 1/4” TRS line inputs on the back panel, and the front panel also has two additional 1/4” line inputs. Integrated CV/Gate outputs enable analog control of modular devices such as classic synths and drum machines. For vinyl junkies, we've included two RCA phono inputs with RIAA preamps to ensure the right levels are fed into the X from your turntable. The joy of vinyl sampling is at the heart of what makes the classic MPC workflow legendary.
