Hybrid Maple Shell

The new Absolute Hybrid series inherits the technology found on Yamaha's flagship PHX Series. On the Absolute Hybrid shell, the design consists of a core layer of a very hard and heavy wood of African origin, sandwiched between layers of Maple, known for its clear sound. This hybrid design provides a rich tone and a wide tonal range, from pianissimo to fortissimo.

Hook Lug

The lugs offer quick and easy head replacement, precise adjustment, and can easily handle tension adjustments. The lug bases are designed with a small footprint to maximize the sound emitted from the drum body.

YESS III

YESS III minimizes sound attenuation. Allowing the drum body to vibrate more freely, the YESS III mount provides more sustain and natural volume of the drum.

Low-Mass Tom Holder Base

The light and small weight of the tom stand allows the bass drum to vibrate more freely.

Optimized Bearing Edge

The bearing angle on the bass drum is different from that used on the tom and snare shells to optimize tonal balance in the drum set.

The 45º/R1.5 edge is used on the snare and toms to create a balanced tone; while the 30º/R1.5 edge on the bass drum shell delivers a deeper tone for a deeper, more powerful sound.

Vent Hole

The vent plays an important role in performance, as it not only affects the feel of the drum, but also the original sound, sustain and tone.

Through a series of tests, YAMAHA discovered the optimal number and location of vents depending on the air capacity of each drum shell. In particular, the vents contribute to enhancing melodic timbre in mid-to-low frequency sounds, as well as controlling resonance.

Classic finish

The case is coated with Yamaha's exclusive "Vintage Natural" finish for enhanced color and a sophisticated look.

3.0mm cast aluminum ring

Die-cast aluminum seals deliver a tight, powerful sound with great resonance.
