The Mapex Black Panther Persuader produces the deep, dry metallic sound that has made this legendary model so famous. The forged brass shell creates a powerful explosion in music with an undeniable "punch".
The Persuader is equipped with Mapex's proprietary Sonic Saver ring, the middle ground between the 3-sided rim and the die. They are made from steel that is folded inwards to be round instead of flat. Sonic Savers control the timbre for a drier sound than a 3-sided rim, but they don't "die" the drum the way a die-cast ring might. They also reduce wear on drums and sticks. The result is a focused snare with clear, powerful rim hits.
