Organ Yamaha PSS E30.
In 2018 Yamaha announced a trio of small PSS organs: PSS-E30 (Remie), PSS-F30 and PSS-A50. These are three products with separate markets, for the learning and playing needs of: young children, older children, teenagers and young adults, and students. Of course, that's just Yamaha's own target audience, one of which could still appeal to musicians and other Keyboard players.

Start with fun.
The PSS-E30 (Remie) has great sound, a keyboard made specifically for little hands, and a songbook designed to make it easy to teach your baby. Tiny conductors can easily take out and put away this compact instrument by themselves. Bring laughter to children when exploring the world of music!
Exploration and fun, all in one.
Great musical instrument sounds as well as vehicle noises, animal sounds and other interesting sound effects help stimulate your child's curiosity. Quiz mode is a great way to naturally develop a musical foundation while having fun, and requires your child to guess the sound effects coming from the instrument. Besides, the more advanced mode requires children to accurately guess the notes. The PSS-E30 (Remie) comes preloaded with songs and all the fun versions of famous tunes your child will hear throughout their musical journey.
Yamaha PSS-E30 mini organ keyboard.
Remie has 37 small keys, the keys of this instrument are actually very similar to Yamaha's Reface series organ. If you try playing, you can see that the keys of the Remie PSS - E30 are better than the YC series.
With these keys, parents can also rest assured about the stability of the keys. If unfortunately your baby gets too excited and tries too hard, the keys are also very sturdy. Parents should not worry about the quality of the keys. Although most adults find this mini keyboard quite cramped, reality shows that the small key size is good for children.
However, with only 37 keys, the note range is sometimes too small for some songs. A few customers wish the model had 49 keys with the C key in its correct middle position. Because they like to play the left hand part two octaves below middle C. With 37 keys, that leaves only one octave above middle C for the melody. However, for children aged 2 years and older & preschoolers, the 37 keys are no problem, the children are just getting used to music and the Organ.
Yamaha PSS-E30 mini organ sound.
As mentioned above, the sound quality of the Yamaha PSS - E30 mini Organ is comparable to Yamaha's early portable organs, at a time when waveform (sound) memory was still limited.
Voices do not respond to touch. Therefore, when you play soft keys or hard keys, you will get the same volume and timbre. You can also make the overall volume louder and softer using the buttons on the front. This is also a way for children to have more interest and motivation in learning the Organ.
Testing the Yamaha PSS - E30 Remie through the built-in speaker, headphone jack (3.5 mm stereo), and in the studio. Of course, an 8cm speaker won't produce rocking bass. Therefore, this guitar is enough for the family's piano classroom, and the instrument's sound reproduction is also surprisingly integrated by the company.
Plugging the headphone jack in will turn off the internal speaker. As expected, the sound quality of the Yamaha PSS - E30 when using headphones really improved significantly. However, parents also need to be careful when letting their children use headphones because they are not proactive in adjusting the volume. Luckily, this guitar has an additional “Volume Limit” function that sets the maximum Master Volume level. Therefore, parents should set "Volume Limit" before letting children use headphones.
The sound quality of the instrument when tested in the studio is quite good! The sound is clear and comparable to other mid-range and imported organs.
Styles and songs on the Yamaha PSS-E30 mini organ.
The style and songs are what we expect from a Yamaha children's organ. This model is equipped with pleasant Styles.
Sound effects (SFX) aren't too difficult to figure out. There are two dedicated buttons on the front panel to select either the blue set or the pink set. Children will also have no trouble adjusting to this effect
Remie has a number of in-depth features controlled by the "FUNCTION" button. This should definitely be left to a parent or teacher to guide. Parents should read the manual for more information. Functions include tuning, transposition, metronome counting, etc
Yamaha sound systems often apply effects such as reverb, chorus, transposition (guitar), etc. Players may be annoyed by too many effects. However, on this cheap organ - Yamaha has set the reverb to a fairly comfortable level - a good adjustment since there isn't any way to change the reverb. Pleasant reverberation is also Remie's advantage.
Musical scales and smart chords on the Yamaha PSS-E30 mini organ.
The Yamaha PSS-E30 (Remie) has a Smart Chord feature that is activated as soon as it appears. Smart Chord is designed to hold chords within a selected musical scale, i.e. AKA the “all white keys” C scale. Smart Chord allows your baby to play one-note chords.
BTW, one of the functions sets the Smart Chord key in case you want to play with the Smart Chord in some other key than C.
Summary:
The Yamaha PSS - E30 Remie is a pretty good keyboard instrument - basic for kids to start with. It's interesting to see what two-year-old hands can do on the Yamaha PSS - E30. This model is very well made and is a worthy investment.
