2022 German Vazquez Rubio Solista SP/IN
Called the "Solista", it features German Vazquez Rubio's latest bracing system (previously only used in his top, highest-end models). This bracing system increases tone especially in the high registers, giving the guitar an overall warmer sound.
This system was so well received in his high-end models that he decided to introduce it in a guitar at a lower price point while maintaining the same high sonic standards - which it did. by using Indian Rosewood for the back and sides (instead of the more expensive, more exotic wood) and less ornate inlay details.
Normally for these models the back and sides are lacquered however for this guitar the entire guitar has been French polished.
Playability is a breeze with a very smooth and comfortable neck (it also has a 20th fret for a natural high tone) and the guitar boasts enough power for any concert - ensemble or solo play.
German Vazquez Rubio (also known as GV Rubio) has been making guitars for over forty years and has developed his own signature sound that guitarists love.
He was born in 1952 in Paracho, Mexico, where there are countless fine luthiers (most of the best guitars in Mexico come from Paracho). Teacher Rubio first learned to make piano at the age of 11 when he left school to help his seven siblings and work for his uncle Manuel Rubio at his workshop. There, even as a young man, he made a conscious effort to make the guitars of a lifetime.
In 1968, at the age of sixteen, he created the first guitar of a high enough standard to be used professionally in concert (hence his label reading 'desde 1968"). From then on , GV Rubio was able to learn from various master craftsmen such as Felix Manzanero, Jose Romanillos and Thomas Humphrey. He has now moved to Los Angeles.
