Follow your passion with D'Addario Coated Phosphor Bronze Acoustic Guitar Strings
The 80/20 brass string has a bright sound made from a mixture of 80% copper and 20% tin, also commonly referred to as "brass" strings. 80/20 is the original acoustic string alloy selected by John D'Addario Sr. and John D'Angelico back to the 1930s. With a compound with less tin and more copper, strings are popular for recording thanks to their crisp, deep bass. It appeals to many traditionalists and classical enthusiasts because of the historic element of the strings themselves. The 80/20 is wound around a hexagonal high-carbon steel core, delivering a long sustain sound with great tonality.
The EXP line of strings features D'Addario's patented life extension coating. A polymer coating is applied to the string BEFORE it is wound on the steel core, giving the strings an uncoated sound and feel while being 4x longer string life.
D'Addario leverages centuries of stringmaking experience and advanced computer-controlled tuning technology to give you the most durable, consistent, and long-lasting guitar strings.
Headquartered on Long Island (New York), D'Addario is internationally renowned as a string maker and industry standard setter.
