Type Am Headjoint
Based on the Handmade Flute's Type A design for a wider pickup range, the Type Am headjoint responds easier and offers superior balance across the instrument's entire range, with slightly greater resistance and a wider dynamic range.
Straubinger Phoenix™ cushions (YFL-700/600)
The Straubinger Phoenix™ cushions are similar in concept to the Straubinger™ cushions on our Handmade Flute and are designed to fit the 700/600 series. The cushions provide a softer touch but also provide superior responsiveness, wide dynamic range and withstand environmental changes similar to Straubinger™ cushions.
Heavy Wall Thickness (YFL-700/600)
Wall thickness has been increased from 0.38mm to 0.43mm to improve balance for use with the new Type Am headjoint and Straubinger Phoenix™ seals.
Pinless Left-hand Key System(YFL-597(H),697(H),797(H) only)
Utilizes the “pinless left-hand key system,” the ideal configuration for handmade flutes. This improves high FF# key operation, and because there are no pins, maintenance is easier.
Pointed keys
The A#, F# and other non-fingerprinted keys are pointed keys. Available on Handmade Flute, their beautiful designs are inspired by traditional European style.
Key design
The keys are hand-fitted and perfectly balanced for perfect touch. And the key shapes have been specially designed and physiologically calculated so that the flute sound almost 'cancels out' in your hands. The performance is almost natural.
