Since its introduction, professional players and equipment reviewers alike have praised the SR Premium series. Developed by luthier Ibanez Premium, the SR1100B series shares many of the premium features of the Prestige line.
Particular attention is shown in details such as the ultra-smooth, hand-crafted fretboard. The 5S Mono-rail bridge allows for a wider range of intonation adjustment, and each individual saddle is securely locked to the body for maximum vibration transmission.
The Ibanez SR1100B's African Mahogany body produces a warm, balanced tone. The 5-piece Atlas neck is comprised of alternating layers of Roasted Maple/Purpleheart, providing outstanding visual detail and long-lasting stability.
Despite the use of exotic materials, this Ibanez Premium bass guitar stays true to the original SR concept: It's surprisingly light, a contrast to the instrument's thick tonal character. The big, bold appearance is largely due to a pair of Nordstrand Big Single pickups.
