Soundboard & Ribs (soundboard).
The most important sound-producing parts of an acoustic piano are the Soundboard and Ribs (wooden slats placed diagonally on the soundboard). Both the materials used and the way they are assembled greatly affect the volume and quality of the piano's sound.
On Kawai pianos, the company only uses large, straight solid Spruce wood to create high-quality soundboards and Ribs bridges that reproduce excellent resonance across the entire sound spectrum.
High quality apparatus.
The cast iron frame , resonance and structure of the Kawai piano are considered extremely good from the time it was produced until now.
The strings are made of high-strength steel with the elements of flexibility and minimal carbon, and the strings have different diameters with a total number of strings on the Kawai piano of 220 strings.
100% lambswool hammers are specially selected for each model to provide optimal tone production, response and long-term durability and deliver superb tone.
There are 3 functional pedals : the soft pedal (or una corda pedal) is the sound reduction pedal, then the sostenuto pedal is the sustain pedal and finally the damper pedal (or sustain pedal) is the echo pedal.
