Taylor Academy 12E Guitar.

Taylor Academy Series helps players experience playing in every style. With the Academy 12e, the compact Grand Concert design makes the guitar the perfect companion for players from all different angles.

Taylor's patented slim neck makes it easier to move chords: shorter scale length of 24-7/8", neck width of 1-11/16", low action means The strings near the fretboard help the player play more gently. The instrument has a back and sides made of Sapele wood, a top made of solid Spruce wood, and a compact body with a slim waist, providing a comfortable feeling to help reduce player fatigue. The short scale length and low action provide the most comfortable experience for players.

The guitar features an integrated ES-B pickup/preamp combined with Taylor's Expression System 2 piezo design with an integrated digital chromatic tuner.

The Grand Concert was launched in 1984 to meet the needs of a wave of fingerstyle players. In contrast to the traditional warm, deep tone of dreadnoughts and jumbos, the GC's compact size and slim waist keep the tone controlled by the player. The Grand Concert is also perfectly suited to the combination of instruments in the studio or orchestra on stage.

Layered Sapele.

The multi-layer wood structure is not appreciated for the sound of the guitar, but it is more durable and cheaper.

With multi-layer Sapele, it is a combination of outer Sapele wood with a core layer of Poplar wood. This gives the guitar more elasticity and better sound transmission under environmental conditions such as high humidity.

The ES-B electronic system integrates a tuner for extremely detailed amplified tones.

Taylor equips the Academy 12E with an ES-B pickup/preamp system that combines Taylor's Expression System 2 piezo design with an integrated digital chromatic tuner. The preamp system is integrated with an LED screen for the ability to adjust power levels even in low light conditions. You can adjust the volume and tone on this screen. The system requires a pair of 3v lithium batteries providing approximately 300 hours of use; Therefore, you can comfortably rehearse or perform on stage. Preamp ES-B also has an automatic shut-off mode after 3 minutes of non-use to conserve energy.

Hardware.

The sturdy chrome tuners are securely attached to the headstock for excellent playability, along with the Tusq nut and Micarta bridge for precise string retention and intonation.
