This model is considered a great product of the Ibanez AZ line. Designed with a Maple neck and fingerboard, along with a basswood body for the most balanced tone. The HSS-configured Seymour Duncan three-pickup system has a classic feel with modern clarity, perfect for power chords, or fast solos.
The A-TECH WOOD Maple neck provides great stability and durability.
The neck is made of Ibanez's S-TEECH WOOD Nitrogen heat-treated Maple, which increases stability, durability, water resistance and the ability to withstand temperature changes. The AZ226 model's C-shaped neck hugs your hand at the lower frets while providing a modern playing feel at the higher frets.
Tremolo T1502 adjusts string stability.
Developed in partnership with Gotoh, Ibanez Premium AZ226's T1502 provides excellent string stability. T1502 holding and adjusting torque allows adjustment without any tools. The screws and bolts are in the right position, increasing the resonance of the sound, making adjustment easy. Additionally, the T1502's two-link tremolo system achieves amazingly smooth tremolo movement in both directions.
The Seymour Duncan Hyperion pickup system delivers a myriad of tones.
The Ibanez Premium AZ226 Seymour Duncan Hyperion pickups are some of the most balanced sounding pickups around. Equipped with an HSS configuration, these pickups deliver moderate output and Alnico V magnets help maintain clarity of fundamental tones. Additionally, Ibanez's dyna-Mix9 switching system changes 9 different sound variations via mini toggle switches and 5-way harvester switches.
