Ibanez AZ226PB. Ibanez launched their model AZ electric guitar in 2018 to cater to what they call the “third stage” of guitar players. A movement of young contemporary guitarists is transforming the way string instruments are used. This Ibanez Premium AZ226PB model features a Poplar top and American basswood body and back, with an ergonomic back contour and large wrist contour for a natural, comfortable feel. The shape of the Ibanez guitar is easily recognizable by its deep waist design and different radii on each curve of the body, making it easier for players to play in both standing and sitting positions.

The Premium AZ model uses heat-treated Maple wood for the neck to provide stability, durability, and the ability to withstand water and temperature changes. The edge of the neck is cut in a smooth curve that extends from the border between the neck and the fingerboard. The Ibanez Super All Access neck joint provides increased playability and easy access to the highest frets. And thanks to its stainless steel construction, this Jumbo fret offers excellent corrosion resistance. The Ibanez Premium AZ226PB is also equipped with luminescent Luminlay side dots to help players easily perform on stage with dark lighting.

Custom Seymour Duncan Hyperion pickups for AZ feature moderate output through Alnico-5 male pins to preserve the clarity of the fundamentals when using distortion and deliver clean pickups.From Acoustics treble to bass, from high “E” to low “E”, the overall tonal balance is evenly tuned and works well with a variety of pedals. The metal housing on the Humbucker Hyperion provides a classic look and selective sound.

The T1502 Tremolo bridge comes from a collaboration between Gotoh and Ibanez. It features a steel surface and die-cast zinc tremolo block for quick response, and the 10.5mm string spacing allows for easier chord transitions. Ibanez joins Gotoh in adding their Magnum Locks, which are already renowned for their stable adjustment capabilities. Additionally, the integrated HAP (Height Adjustable Post) system allows adjusting the string posts to get the right tension for each string.

And the Ibanez Premium AZ226PB combines all 9 dyna-Mix systems and Alter switches, a combination that creates 9 sound variations in one electric guitar. Players can easily switch between humbucker and single coil modes with the mini switch or use the Alter switch to change voices. This mode can even simulate the sound of a humbucker from the combination of two single coils to create tone options from HH to HSS configurations.
