The Taylor AD17 is the first Grand Pacific model among the Dreadnought guitars that plays an extremely important role in introducing a series of products in Taylor's 'American Dream Series'. The model is designed with back and sides made of Ovangkol wood, an African basswood combined with Rosewood tonewood to produce a wide, warm and brilliant sound frequency range. Made of Solid Spruce, the Taylor AD17 creates a blend of sparkling, colorful sound, along with the V-Class bracing system for longer sustain and consistent sound. more tuneful.
Classic colors, with a natural color treatment on the top, and an Urban Sienna color treatment on the sides and hips create the irresistible appeal of this model. Minimalist yet exquisitely crafted, the Taylor AD17 features chamfered edges, a 3-ring rosette in Kawaii Koa lettering, and a protective pickguard. The 2mm finish minimizes damping to eliminate any interference creating the best sound resonance.

Body length: 20'/ Body width: 16'/ Body depth: 4 5/8'
Modeled around V-Class bracing and inspired by classic acoustic guitars, the Grand Pacific is a Dreadnought guitar that ushers in a new era of Taylor style and sound.
The sound is warm, thick and powerful in the low frequency range
The bass range is clear and not shrill
The notes combine seamlessly into a harmonious whole
Introduced in 2019, the Grand Pacific marks the beginning of what customers value the quintessential Taylor sound for: Individual notes resonate distinctly, with plenty of sparkle and clarity.
Sitka Spruce Top.
As the standard soundboard for acoustic guitars, the Sitka Spruce is the tonewood standard of the modern era. It is used on 85% of the guitars Taylor produces. The wood's combination of strength and elasticity translates into a wide tonal range, providing clear articulation that allows for powerful plucks or fingerstyle barrel-beating.
Ovangkol wood.
Origin: Tropical West Africa
Used on: 400 series
More than a decade ago, Taylor introduced guitar players around the world to a sustainable tonewood called Ovangkol. It is related to African Rosewood, which is a wonderful sounding wood, with many of the tonal characteristics of Rosewood, with a slightly thicker midrange and bottom end that is not as bright as Maple. It's less well known than Rosewood, but Ovangkol has become a huge hit with guitar players.
What is V-Classic Bracing?
The brace is the internal framework that shapes the sound of an acoustic guitar. The V-Classic bracing system is a breakthrough design from Taylor, a new sound “engine” that transforms the way an acoustic guitar head vibrates to dramatically improve sound. Developed and designed by master Andy Powers, it marks a bold departure from traditional X-bracing, it produces notes that are louder, longer sustained and more in tune.
The V-Classic brace controls the flexibility of the top for a more orderly swing motion on both sides. Controlled bending motion produces a louder sound.
The V-Class bracing system maintains longitudinal stiffness between the strings, in the direction of the strings. That stiffness keeps the string moving, creating notes that resonate longer before fading
V-Class bracing helps the head unit blend better with the vibrating strings. This largely eliminates the noise of some fluctuating notes and out-of-tune sounds. As a result, notes and chords played anywhere on the neck are consistent and in harmony with each other.
