The design of the Gibson ES-345 follows the traditional principles of Electric Spanish design developed under Ted McCarty. Accordingly, the thin body with top, back and sides are made of three-layer Maple stabilized by a heat-treated Maple wood block in the middle, resulting in a resonant and airy acoustic sound composition. Does not tend to create background noise at high volume levels.

The ABR-1 Tune-o-matic bridge was the brainchild of legendary Gibson president Ted McCarty in 1954, setting a standard of simplicity and functionality that has never been improved. The ABR-1 is attached directly to the body using separate studs and thumb wheels, providing string security and allowing the player the ability to adjust and fine-tune intonation and pitch. wire height in just a few minutes.
