Each EvenPly shell in the Reference One set is equipped with MasterCast Die-Cast rings, for a thorough combination of sustain and attack. Included with the Reference One, Pearl's R2 Air Tom Suspension System provides perfectly balanced tom mounting for high-production clear tone.

Pearl's Reimagined High-End features the Reference One Series' innovative new hybrid drum concept, fine-tuned to deliver sonic purity to suit the most discerning players and environments.

Reference One features premium North American Maple, Birch and African Mahogany shells, with each drum having a different shell profile, edge and thickness to best suit its place in the drum set.

Using the world's first high-temperature hydraulic press system, Pearl's SST method was developed to fabricate multi-layer, bonded drum shells with the resonance and durability of single-layer solid wood .

This exclusive engineering begins with hand-selected premium hardwoods, chosen for their unique acoustic properties.

Each layer is milled to a precise thickness and bonded into 2-layer panels.

Utilizes Pearl's signature stacked scarf-style seam, providing 800% more bond surface area than conventional butt joints, ensuring perfect edge fit, providing superior extreme durability and integrity to the housing while eliminating air pockets that can disrupt vibrations, so the housing vibrates evenly for superior resonance.

The wood layers are bonded with Pearl's proprietary glue, which penetrates the wood and dries to the wood's exact consistency to create optimal resonance.

Finally, the wood layers are shaped in a mold at high temperature with 1000 PSI hydraulic pressure, creating an optimal air cavity for optimal resonance, extreme durability, and outstanding tone.

All are tested for completeness to ensure safety and optimal adjustment.
