WHEN YOU BALANCE THE MOST TRUE SOUND.
Since the 1970s, the iconic white woofers and signature sound of Yamaha-made nearfield monitors have become a true industry standard for one reason - accuracy. Unlike studio monitors that add extra bass or treble frequencies that may at first sound "flattering", the HS series speakers are designed to give you the most accurate, true-to-life sound. possible, creating the ideal sonic foundation to develop during mixing. By combining acquired knowledge and expertise with state-of-the-art audio technology, Yamaha's speaker engineering team has tested and then optimized every aspect that makes these monitors great. most trusted in the industry. The second-generation HS series also adds a new 6.5-inch model to the lineup, bringing unsurpassed accuracy to even more recording environments.
The Sound Philosophy of HS Series Studio Monitors.
When choosing a reference loudspeaker for studio use for mixing and producing music, one of the most crucial factors is - accuracy. Starting with the legendary NS-10M, and continuing with the previous MSP and HS Series, this new line of loudspeakers continues the design philosophy that emphasizes the fidelity of the original sound without any effects. any other "colorful" sound. While many manufacturers seek to enhance the sound effects of their reference lines to make them sound more impressive, Yamaha monitors are designed to achieve the best possible synergy by ensuring that The sound coming from the speakers is true to the original sound. The reference HS series embodies this philosophy with highly detailed, precise transmission of sound.
Newly developed recorder.
The HS series features a newly developed receiver that achieves an amazing response over a wide bandwidth range. The receivers use an advanced magnetic design that regulates the flow of the magnetic response to provide seamless, natural sonic transitions. Each material and design component is carefully considered, then optimized, to dramatically improve signal accuracy throughout the audio spectrum. The HS Series tweeter features a newly designed, highly efficient tweeter that greatly expands the usable frequency range and provides high-resolution action sound quality. Using a long waveguide designed to minimize tweeter vibration can provide smooth, high-end, distortion-free sound up to 30 kHz. Subwoofer With a new design, super responsive woofer using carefully selected magnets, the HS series delivers low distortion sound with a low definition bottom at any output level. All components in the high-powered woofers, including the woofer ring and basket, contribute to the beautiful bass of the HS Series, while the mids are clear and precise.
High performance amplifier.
The HS series loudspeakers use an amplifier that perfectly matches the receivers used in each model of the series. Featuring a bi-amp design with a separate amp for both the woofer and tweeter, this amplifier ensures that each HS series speaker delivers high-resolution sound with a flat response along the audio spectrum.
Low resonance barrel design.
The HS Series enclosures are designed to eliminate unwanted resonances and increase sound reproduction accuracy to its extreme limits. The cabinet is made from a very thick MDF wood with the highest vibration reduction efficiency for the reference speaker line. Crystallized from more than 100 years of experience designing Yamaha pianos, the HS Series speaker engineers also employ a traditional three-way coupling technique. This same structural design is applied to the corners of the enclosures to greatly improve durability and eliminate unwanted resonances that can affect the overall sound.
State-of-the-art noise reduction technology.
Speaker port design can affect overall sound clarity. Often a vortex at either end of the gate can create vibrations in the air inside the gate, causing unwanted noise. By applying an advanced noise reduction technology that combined with an in-depth analysis of a visual representation of the sound, Yamaha engineers are able to control and reduce spin. Through this in-depth analysis, we have arrived at the ideal gate designs, resulting in up to 6dB of acoustic noise reduction. The use of these latest technologies allows the HS series Studio monitors to meet the needs of more rigorous professional production environments.
Connect and control.
The HS series full-range loudspeakers feature two control responses with detailed settings that allow them to adapt to the acoustic surface of many shapes and sizes of rooms. ROOM CONTROL allows you to reduce the unnatural, low-end exaggeration that can often occur when speakers are placed next to a wall, while HIGH TRIM allows for more flexible control of the high frequency response. At the input, the HS full-range speaker adapts to balanced and unbalanced input sources such as mixers, keyboards, and audio interfaces with XLR and TRS phone jacks. With the HS8S woofer unit, the HIGH CUT Control enables high frequencies to be cut from 80Hz to 120Hz, while the PHASE switch adjusts the phases of the subwoofer output. The LOW CUT switch and LOW CUT control enable the output bass frequency to be cut between 80Hz and 120Hz. The HS8S subwoofer is equipped with XLR and TRS phone jacks for input and XLR for output.
Flexible installation (HS only).
By adding mounting points to and from the HS, the HS-I is compatible with three optional mounting types - wall, ceiling and tree, adding the versatility needed to meet the demands of musical spaces.
Paired speaker model - HS series.
In 2019, Yamaha marked the 50th anniversary of the Professional Audio division with the launch of a special limited edition: the "HS MP model". Maintaining the strict design principles typical of Yamaha, the HS MP is packaged in a carton labeled "MP" (Matched Pair), consisting of two speakers with matching serial numbers. and special manufacturing process with specially selected components. We are confident that this special version will have additional optimal support elements for your next project.
