A premier guitar soundboard, Sitka Spruce is the tone-wood standard of the modern era. It is used on 85-90% of the guitars Taylor makes. The combination of ruggedness and elasticity translates into a wide sound spectrum. It is preferred by Strumming and flatpicking to fingerpicking players alike.

ES-B Pickup System.

The ES-B Pickup System is a combination of Pickup and Electronic Tuner for easy tuning and stage performance.

The Expression System Baby™ (ES-B) pickup combines Taylor's Expression System® 2 and features an onboard preamp with a built-in digital chromatic tuner. The preamp/tuner has an LED display for low-battery and tuning, along with tone and volume controls. The preamp/tuner is powered by 2 3V lithium batteries (CR2032). Two new batteries should provide about 300 hours of use. The ES-B has a battery life using a standard auto on/off system if left unused for more than 3 minutes. The low battery indicator on the LED display (located on the preamp board) will show an "L" when the battery reaches 4.5 volts.
