Martin D42 Special Guitar.
The idea for the guitar took root nearly 25 years ago when Martin got his first laser engraver, and Boak began exploring different ways to utilize it. Boak created an elaborate pen and ink drawing illustrating an intricate pattern design intended to be engraved into a scratch-resistant plate with a laser, but unfortunately, the material is not safe to use. do that.
After 23 years, Boak suddenly found his original illustration and thought it would become a beautiful work if inlaid with mother-of-pearl, and this time, he was right! Working with Bill Seymour and Jeremy Chism at Pearlworks, the trio painstakingly tweaked the design to create the intricate mother-of-pearl inlay. As a result, Chris Martin IV approved the product.
The guitar has a back and sides made of India Rosewood, and a front body made of high-quality Sitka Spruce. The X-bracing moves forward in a clamshell structure to ensure open projection for the guitar. Vintage-inspired details include white trim; Mother-of-pearl inlays along the perimeter of the instrument, extended keyboard. Luxurious glossy finish with the company's top quality piano keys.
