1. Asymmetrical STYLE

Martin's president of product quality, Fred Greene, wanted guitars with an asymmetrical design. Under Fred's direction, the product development team explored the fresh concept and conducted back-burner testing in the R&D area before releasing the latest version in 2020.

2. NEW VOICE SYSTEM

The asymmetrical shape is reminiscent of the “S” design, hence the name – SC-13E. In the early decades, the "S" design inspired Martin's later designs. And for the first time in the history of Martin, the letter 'S' in the name represents the actual shape of the guitar, not the size of the guitar as other names do: D= Dreadnought, J= Jumbo.

Design director Tim Teel said that the name this time has a very simple meaning when just looking at the letter S to visualize the style of the guitar. 4. CONNECTING A NEW DRUGS
