MXR Bass Distortion produces a big, gritty sound with all the low end punch you desire. Working closely with indie pedal phenom, dirt bass guru, and founder of Fuzzrocious Pedals, Ryan Ratajski, uses renowned and recycled distortion circuits that cater to the modern-day bass player.
Previously, if you wanted to use a distortion pedal and keep the low end intact, you had to split the raw and corrected signals between the two amps. With the MXR® Bass Distortion, there's no need for the above operations, this pedal puts the clean/dirty mix controls right at your feet along with individual Dry and Wet level adjustments. The Tone control only affects the distortion signal, being a simple high cut filter that reduces the top end, and the Distortion control sets the strength of the distortion signal.
Finally, the captivating sound of the MXR® Bass Distortion comes in two flavors, optionally via the LED/SIL switch. The default SIL setting uses silicon pair diodes for a crisp sound, and some compression while the LED setting uses LED diodes for a more open sound and good gain push.
