Kawai K200 Upright Acoustic Piano.
Delivers the reliability and character needed to please any performing pianist from beginner to seasoned professional.
Millennium III Upright Action.
The Millennium III Upright Action features components made of ABS-Carbon, a composite material created by infusing carbon fiber into our famous ABS Styran. ABS-Carbon is extremely strong and rigid, allowing for lighter action parts without sacrificing strength. The result is a stronger, faster action that delivers more power, better control, and greater stability than conventional all-wood actions.
Cast aluminum action stand.
Made from custom molds, injection molded parts are always shaped exactly the same. The K Series piano features three die-cast aluminum action frames to provide an additional measure of durability, uniformity and stability for precise touch over time.
Extended key length.
Longer keys make playing easier and provide more even response from front to back of the playing surface. The benefit to the player is better control and more power with less effort.
Tapered soundboard made of Solid Spruce wood.
Soundboard is the heart of a piano. Its purpose is to convert the vibrations of the piano strings into a rich and resonant tone. Kawai only uses straight-grained, vertically sawn solid Spruce for its K Series soundboards. Each soundboard is strategically tapered to maximize its sound production capabilities. Only pianos that meet or exceed our rigorous quality standards are selected for use in our professional upright pianos.
Double felt T-staple hammer & Mahogany wood core.
The Mahogany hammer ridges are very light and extremely responsive. Found only on the finest pianos, Mahogany is used for the hammer moldings on the entire K Series Professional Upright Piano line. All K Series hammers are T-stamped to retain their shape hammer and is equipped with an additional layer of felt inside to help create a special sound.
The keyboard is reinforced with steel.
A piano's keyslip is a long, horizontal piece of wood that covers the front of the keys. Because they are long, thin, and made of wood, keyslips can warp or bend when humidity changes, causing the keys to stick. To eliminate this problem, a steel angle iron is added to prevent warping. The keys move more freely with virtually no chance of rubbing or sticking to the key slide.
Keybed and Braces.
The piano's keyboard must be strong and stable to support the action and maintain its stability over many years of use. The K Series keyboard is made of sturdy laminated hardwood and reinforced with back braces on an iron frame that helps ensure a stable position and adds rigidity to prevent energy loss.
