1937 was a great year for guitars, with a perfect storm of workmanship, innovation and materials.
This Authentic Series replica of the 1937 D-18 remains true to the original with hidden glue construction and historically accurate details.
This guitar has a genuine Mahogany back and sides, an Adirondack Spruce top, and has Authentic circa 1937 bracing.
Additionally, it adds the VINTAGE TONE SYSTEM® (VTS) that ages the wood to recreate the sound of a classic Martin. Martin's craftsmen are able to recreate the pleasing aesthetic of a vintage guitar and reproduce specific tones previously reserved for classical instruments.
Now, Martin has reintroduced a more accurate body shape based on the shape of the dreadnoughts from the first Golden Era of Martin's history. The result is a tactile, visual and auditory experience that will transport you back to the 1930s.
