Godin Guitar
Godin's story.
Robert Godin began making guitars in a small village in rural Quebec, Canada following his passion for music and craftsmanship. His determination, meticulousness, craftsmanship and dedication to his craft led to the founding of Godin Guitars, now one of North America's leading guitar manufacturers. Godin Guitars provides musicians around the world with diverse and unique musical instruments that meet their needs and expectations. You'll see yourself playing the first notes!
50 years after the founding of Godin Guitars, that passion continues to the new generation through Simon and Patrick, Robert's two sons. Today, Godin guitars continue to evolve and make their mark on the industry with sophisticated, modern designs that highlight the workmanship of the company's craftsmen.
There are five brands in the Godin family: Seagull, Simon & Patrick, Norman, Art & Lutherie and Godin. The company is also the manufacturer of the revolutionary TRIC guitar cases, which offer an unparalleled level of protection.
From the forest to the stage.
In fact all of Godin's production is carried out at Godin's own factories, located in Quebec. This allows Godin to maintain complete control over every step in the instrument's production process. That way, Godin's designers and craftsmen ensure the highest possible level of quality, while adding their own personal touch, ensuring that the instrument is built in the most modern way. From the installation of the frets to the final stage of polishing, Godin guitars are made by hand at every stage. When you buy a Godin guitar, you are buying from a proud Canadian family business.
Godin's goal.
Godin strives to honor the best traditions of guitar manufacturing, while continuously improving its products through innovative design. Godin's goal has always been to provide premium guitars that allow any artist to learn, grow, and most importantly, enjoy their musical abilities.

All Godin guitars are made in Canada, at the Richmond, Quebec factory. All models, regardless of features or price, are subject to the same manufacturing process and exacting quality assurance.
The difference in price is due to the design of the instrument, the wood used, and the type and complexity of the electronics. To differentiate models, Godin uses many abbreviations in product names.
SA: Abbreviation for Synth Access. All guitars with the SA designation in the product name are equipped with a 13-pin MIDI system compatible with Roland GR55 MIDI (Musical Instrument Digital Interface) devices. A notable exception is the Multiac Nylon String Natural HG model, which is equipped with the SA system even though the product name does not have the word SA in it. Also note that models with ACS in the name also have this MIDI/SA technology.
ACS: ACS stands for ACoustic Solid, combining the characteristics of classical guitars with solid body guitars. ACS models have a sound cavity but the top is thicker. This unique design results in a guitar with virtually no feedback, making it perfectly suited for performance. All ACS models are equipped with a MIDI system (SA – Synth Access).
Grand Concert: Grand Concert models offer the same features as regular models, but with a wider body size, for a more traditional classical guitar playing experience. The nut width of Grand Concert models is 2" (50.8 mm). Meanwhile, regular models are 1.9" (48.26 mm) and Slim models are 1.7" (43, 18 mm). Additionally, the Grand Concert's neck radius is 24", connecting to the soundboard at the 12th fret.
Deluxe: Deluxe models are equipped with state-of-the-art electronics designed specifically for Godin by LR Baggs. This innovative system features two sound sources that can be combined: 6 HEX pickups for each string and a Lyric pickup located inside the guitar. Deluxe models are designed for guitarists who want pure, unadulterated nylon sound. This model is also popular with fingerstyle players, because the Lyric pickup accurately reproduces the vibrations of the soundboard. Deluxe models do not have a MIDI system (SA – Synth Access).
Encore: The Encore system is a dual-source electronics system, one pickup under the saddle and two sensors located in the soundboard. Encore models do not have a MIDI system (SA - Synth Access).
HG: HG models are finished with a layer of high gloss varnish.
SG: SG models are finished with a layer of matte varnish.
Slim: Means the width of the nut is reduced to 1.7" (43.18 mm). Regular models have a nut width of 1.9" (48.26 mm), while the Grand Concert is 2"(50.8 mm).
Mundial: It's the Encore line but painted.
