Acoustic Guitar Yamaha FS3
Classic V-shaped pedestal.
The guitar retains the original FG pedestal shape, emblazoned with the iconic “Tuning Fork” logo. The traditional truss rod cover is decorated with “Since 1966” to mark the launch of the first FG models.
The top is made of solid Sitka Spruce wood.
Typically sourced from Canada and Alaska, solid Sitka Spruce provides rich low- and mid-frequency response. The sound is tight and focused, which works especially well for chord strumming effects or rhythm fingerstyle techniques.
Solid Mahogany back and sides.
Mahogany has a slower transient response than many other tonewoods, contributing to a warm, woody sound with a strong midrange.
New clamshell frame.
In creating the sound of the FG Red Label, our intention was to offer a warm sound that is ideal for folk music and modern singers.
With careful measurement and testing, we've made a number of tweaks that enhance low-frequency response without compromising durability. These changes are optimized for the natural characteristics of the soundwood and for each body style.
Enhanced Sound Resonance.
Yamaha's exclusive Acoustic Resonance Enhancement (ARE) technique uses heat, humidity and atmospheric pressure to accelerate the aging of wood. ARE processing gives the instrument a rich, vintage-quality sound that sounds as if you've been playing for years.
