Purchased my Cort CR250 3 weeks ago. Shipped from HCMC to Da Nang in perfect condition. Packed very well.
I purchased because I know Cort makes excellent guitars for many high end guitar companies. Cort knows how to build very good guitars and this one is no exception and at this price is a great value for your money guitar.
I have not found a single flaw on this guitar. The finish is perfect, the craftsmanship is very high.. The neck and fret work which is of the most importance is high quality. Every part fits nicely and the entire guitar is put together to very high standards. The electronic work is very cleanly done as is the installation of all the hardware. The control cavities are all cleanly routed and finished.
The Tuners are very solid and my guitar holds tune very well. The pickups , Alnico II Humbuckers, have very good tone. The Tune-O-Matic bridge is solid. It has a GraphTech NuBone nut and it is cut just about perfect. The nut is just a tiny bit to the high side which is exactly how you want it to come new.
I have built several of my own electric guitars and know my way around one pretty well. I did do some set up tweaks to make it more to my liking. I adjusted the truss rod just a little over a few days and now have it dialed in to my liking with just a touch of relief.. with my string action fairly low but high enough for the strings to really ring out.. And I find with 10's on it the tuning is very stable. I did try some 9's but thought they were not right for me on this guitar.. Too squishy, too easy to push out of tune.
9's Might be good for someone with a very light touch though.
I polished up the frets, put just a little mineral oil on the fret board, put a new set of D'Addirio EXL110's on it, set the neck relief to just a little bit, strings action height, and touched up the intonation.
Out of the box it was all reasonably set up but I do like things how I like them so I made small adjustments which it took very well.
All in all this is a very good , well built guitar. Would be great for gigging or someone looking to get into guitar. Mine seems to stay in tune very well now.
It is a bit heavy, but most SingleCut LP's are, this is a well built, great value for your money guitar.
I felt that going with Cort I was assured of quality.
And I must add that the fine people at Viet Music did a fantastic job of working with me and my guitar arrived in Perfect condition.
They are very good to work with.. I ordered an amp from them a few days later as well which arrived Perfect as well..
